Chief Complaint: (written on the chart before I go in the room)

     "giving genetic tylenol"

Interesting Name:

  Emilly

Anecdote:

A five year old girl proudly told me that she was able to ride a two-wheeler.  I asked if she had training wheels.  She looked at me seriously and said, "Yes, but they're on loosely."
     Westport, Connecticut 1990's

Poetry:

Coup d'essai:

"I'm itching to tell it to you," the barber in Don  Quixote, Part II, Chapter I.

Favorite Musician/song:

Brahms, Symphony Number 4, 1st Movement.

I have seen this performed…exquisite and beautiful.  I fell in love with Brahms music form the DVD, "Music from the Inside Out."  It is one of the last pieces played.

Favorite Book/author:

Favorite Movie/DVD:

The Shootist, John Wayne

One of my favorites, perhaps because of the poignancy of being Wayne's last movie, having suffered from cancer, like the main character.  Many of the actors volunteered to be in the movie gratis out of respect for Wayne's legacy, knowing that it would be his last.  I'm not even a fan of the Western or John Wayne in general, but this movie represents a summation of one's life, a passing on of his wisdom, done with humor and pathos…and the incredible roles played by Lauren Bacall, Ron Howard, and the doctor, Jimmy Stewart, in one of his best roles in my opinion.
